Blue Shield/Physical Therapists

On December 13, 2007, a proposed class action was filed on behalf of licensed California physical therapists against Blue Shield of California Life and Health Insurance Company and its claims advisor/administrator, ACN Group, Inc. (now known as Optumhealth) challenging Blue Shield's reimbursement payment policies which arbitrarily deny, delay or reduce payments to physical therapists for treatment performed without any reasonable justification. The case name is Tobias v. Blue Shield of California Life and Health Insurance Company, et al., San Francisco Superior Court Case No. CGC-07-470021.
