Representing The Powerless Against The Powerful

Drug Litigation

WHEN A DRUG THAT SHOULD HELP YOU ENDS UP HURTING YOU, WE CAN HELP.

Our defective drug litigation attorneys have experience representing clients suffering from severe physical damage and the unanticipated side effects of prescription medication.

The large pharmaceutical companies have a responsibility to place safe drugs into the marketplace. In some instances, drug companies rush a product to market and/or act overzealously in promoting the drug and convincing physicians to prescribe it. We hope the work we do not only gets compensation for our injured clients, but forces drug companies to do everything they can, even above and beyond FDA requirements to make sure the drugs they sell are safe.

Currently, there is a concern over the connection between the arthritis drug Vioxx and heart attacks and strokes. However, almost any prescription medication can act unpredictably.

Our experience includes cases involving:

300 Dalkon Shield settlements for over $10 million for women with injuries ranging from infection, loss of organs, infertility, stillbirth, and septic abortion.

Higuera v. Syntrax (San Luis Obispo County) Over $3,400,000 settlement for a woman requiring a liver transplant after using Lipokinetix, an untested dietary supplement.

L-tryptophan, Six settlements sealed by court order, average settlement $1 million for users of a defective health food supplement. John Hornbeck served on the MDL Committee establishing liability.

In Re DIET DRUGS, Eight settlements sealed by court order, average settlement $1 million. John Hornbeck served on the MDL Committee establishing liability.

Healy v. Dalkon Shield Claimants Trust, $1 million verdict for infertile Dalkon Shield victim awarded by San Francisco jury.

Bell v. Dalkon Shield Claimants Trust, San Francisco Superior Court $700,000 verdict for infertile Dalkon Shield victim.

In addition, Thomas Brandi was court appointed to serve on behalf of plaintiffs in Dalkon Shield class action matters in Virginia. Thomas was also a member of the Plaintiffs' Management Committee in the California Diet Drug Litigation where thousands of individuals were victimized by the diet pill combination Fen-Phen and is a member of the California Plaintiffs steering committee in the California Vioxx litigation. John Hornbeck was a key member of the MDL Committees establishing product defect in Fen-Phen Rezulin and L-tryptophan. Mr. Brandi and Mr. Hornbeck are each on the MDL Science and Discovery Committee in the national Vioxx litigation.
