Biography
Austin has represented plaintiffs in state courts in cases involving product liability for defective vehicles, electric bikes and scooters, lithium batteries, and exercise equipment; Uber/Lyft/rideshare accidents; various automotive accidents; medical malpractice; public entity liability, including the State of California for dangerous roadways due to an absence of median barriers or guardrails, inadequate signage, signal defects, and various cities and counties throughout California arising out of dangerous crosswalks and intersections, bus accidents, etc. leading to catastrophic injuries, spinal cord injuries, paraplegia, brain injuries, severe burns, and wrongful death.
Austin has experience in a wide variety of matters and is well suited to overcome the unique challenges every case presents. He has successfully opposed pleading motions, conducted fact and expert discovery, prepared expert witnesses for trial, opposed and brought trial motions in limine.
Austin has successfully opposed dispositive motions including numerous motions for summary judgement which led to favorable resolutions of each case. Most notably, he successfully opposed four motions for summary judgement from each defendant in a dangerous condition of public property and negligence matter arising out of a bicyclist suffering a spinal cord injury after striking an unmarked chain and bollards near a park in the City of Palo Alto. Austin scrutinized the evidence to oppose complex legal issues that helped pave the way for an eight-figure settlement.
Austin has been a member of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and Consumer Attorneys of California since 2022 and is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco.
Prior to joining The Brandi Law Firm, Austin graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law where he especially enjoyed Moot Court and Trial Practice with Prof. Thomas Brandi. A native of Wisconsin, Austin attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. During his undergraduate studies, Austin worked as a paralegal at the University Legal Clinic, and two personal injury law firms.
Austin takes pride in being able to give a voice to injured plaintiffs and seek justice through the legal system. He currently lives in San Francisco with his fiancé.
