Nissan Issues Pair of Recalls for 15,489 New Versa Note Hatchbacks

| Aug 23, 2013 | Automobile Defects

Nissan is recalling 15,489 2014 Versa Note compact vehicles due to issues involving the installation of certain bolts in the automobile.  There are two recalls associated with this vehicle.  The first recall affects Versa Note vehicles manufactured between April 23, 2013, and July 5, 2013.  The rear seat latch bolts may have been manufactured incorrectly and then installed in the car, thus the bolts are not at their full strength.  If the rear seat latch bolts break, the rear seats may not perform as designed in a crash, increasing the risk of injury to back seat occupants.

The other Versa Note recall affects the lower body sill bolts.  These bolts may be missing from the vehicle or incorrectly torque by Nissan technicians.  Missing lower body bolts may affect the vehicle’s integrity in the event of a rear impact, increasing the risk of injury.  The Versa Note hatchbacks missing these lower body sill bolts were manufactured between April 23, 2013, and July 3, 2013

Both recalls are expected to begin August 12, 2013.  Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear seat latch bolts or install and tighten to specification the lower body sill bolts, as needed, free of charge, free of charge.  Owners may contact Nissan at 800-647-7261.

Americans rely on their car manufactures to provide a safe well-designed vehicle.  Sadly, that is not often the case.  The Auto Defect Attorneys at the Brandi Law Firm has successfully represented many people injured from defective Toyotas, Fords, Chrysler, Nissan, GM products and numerous other manufacturers and suppliers.  Often times, people involved in accidents do not examine the issues of defective vehicle design nor whether the car was truly crashworthy – does it contain the appropriate crash protection.  If you or a loved one has been injured in an auto crash, our attorneys at the Brandi Law Firm are available to consult with you.  Please contact our office at 800-481-1615 or email us.
